Vertiginous Views

There is one kind of adrenaline we feel when facing heights. The possibility of looking over cities from the sky is not new, since there are many skyscrapers around the world that offer it as tourist attraction. Viewpoints for those yearning for vertigo.

Edge is an angular platform that rises 345 meters above the ground and belongs to the Hudson Yards complex in New York. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), the outdoor sky deck is considered the highest in the western hemisphere.

It is truly one of the best views of one of the greatest cities in the world and we are thrilled to have everyone experience it firsthand.  -Michael Turner, President of Oxford Properties.

Its pointy shape, the angular piece of crystal floor, and its glass walls allow for a 360º view of the New York landscape. Its access is through an elevator that takes 52 seconds to reach the 100th floor, an outdoor stairway leads the way from Edge to Peak Restaurant on floor 101. Both bar and restaurant are covered with large glass extensions and boast interiors designed by New York-based firm Rockwell Group.

The Edge observation deck is the most dramatic in a series of gestures that link KPF’s buildings, in the Hudson Yards development, with the main surrounding structures in the city.  -William Pedersen, KPF’s Founding Partner.
