Design Center Guadalajara, by Grupo Arca, was nominated for the “Interior Design’s Best of Year” award, the main design recognition program within the industry. A tribute to the year’s most important project and an acknowledgment to the designers, architects, and manufacturers behind it.
The work, inaugurated in April of this same year, was designed by Esrawe Studio under the concept: the quarry and the representation of landscape as architecture. Made up by 6,000 square meters that divide in two volumes; the first one appointed showroom, where the entrance shows the image of a natural rock quarry, fully cladded in Travertino; the second one embodies the warehouse, that serves as storage space to keep stone plates.
Interior Design's Best of Year celebrates its 14th anniversary along which it has become the greatest recognition to excellence and a showcase to display what is happening in each design category. With more than 1,000 attendees from all over the world, this year the event will be held on December 6th in New York’s Javits Center and will be hosted by Interior Design Editor-in-Chief, Cindy Allen, and Publisher Carol Cisco. The winners will take home the prize designed by Harry Allen.
